Hey girl,

Sunday night, I watched "The Passion of the Christ" on Showtime for the first time.

Have you seen it? Even though I don't agree with some of Mel Gibson's views, and I sense he may be racist, I liked the movie.

I've never said this about a movie before - shit, I'm a fan of "Good Fellas" and "Scarface" - but it was too bloody.

Seeing Jesus getting whipped for 10 minutes in a movie is a bit much. The pain and the persecution overwhelmed the message of the movie. There should have been more flashbacks to his preaching, methinks, or at least some time spent after the resurrection.

Not to diminish the torture he endured, but the positive message is the essence of his existence, right?
